This standard covers general requirements of single and multicore cables/cords with rigid as well as flexible annealed bare/tinned copper and aluminium conductor, insulated and sheathed (if any) with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for rated voltages up to and including 1100 V ac, 50 Hz used in electric power and lighting including cables for outdoor and low temperature use.
